Nice monument. We parked at the seaboard centre.
Also have waste disposal there for a donation. Lovely views out to sea
Good sized statue and information post. To be honest I was expecting more, I'm not sure how much more or what else but I was a bit underwhelmed like oh that's it! But worth a look if you're passing. Don't go really out of your way to see it.
Five sculptures including Giant Salmon and the Mermaid of the North by Stephen Hayward, and three slate monuments in the Seaboard Sculpture Park are a tribute to the old tradition of stone carving. They celebrate the more recent history and character of Hilton, Shandwick and Balintore, the 3 Seaboard Villages, whose people have for centuries relied on the sea.
Nice short walk, nice pebble beach and lovely harbour. The Seaboard Centre is closed at the weekend as it hosts private functions such as weddings
This was one of my to go places while tripping around Scotland ... I'll be honest I found it very underwhelming, and she's not that pretty. Spoke to a local and she even offered better places to visit... but I've marked it off my list so therefore a two star instead of one
If you want to see a Mermaid well this is where to go to get the photo for the travel album. Nothing else to say but if you're close, drop past for the photo. Only 10 min drive from Tain.
Very similar to the Copenhagen one, it's a nice statue, slightly out to sea.
We love the beach here and the statue and info boards are great. Nice little stop off along our route.
Nice statue, we visited when the tide was out , can imagine when the tide is in it would look a lot better. Nice area to explore with small beach.
